My Long Lost Book

I was going through some of the cabinets searching for the wireless keyboard when I came across a book that I've been looking for!

A Packed Saturday

What a day it was! Went for band prac in the morning from 11 am till 2 pm. Then went to Compass Point to have some light refreshments. Went back home to bathe, shave and then later got dressed to meet Claudia, Jasmine, Chee Keong and Wei Liang. It has been quite a while since I saw Claudia, Jasmine and Chee Keong and it felt good too talking to them about what happened to the other band members and what we used to do in school...which reminds me that I have to send Jasmine the photos of the people that we talked about!

After that, I took a train to Chinatown and then bus no 124 to SAFRA @ Mount Faber where I met mum and dad for Peter and Cecilia's 50th Wedding Annivesary and after that a wake @ Jurong. That pretty much sums up what happened...

Shaven with a coming New Year!

Yes! I feel so relieved! I finally got to shave after 4 days! It felt really uncomfortable as my face was getting oily all the time regardless of how many times I used the facial wash :( I decided that no girl was going to look at me during this period and so I left my facial hair growing as it is. Maybe I should have taken a pic...but then again...I might have looked like a beggar!

I feel more confident of myself of late. I've been exercising on Monday and yesterday. Was in the gym on Monday and went jogging yesterday. It felt really different to be jogging this time round. Normally, I would tire at the end of the normal route but this time I felt that I could continue further. Decided to rest today and start tomorrow and on Friday.

Will be coming to Sengkang Sec to have a look @ the concert on Friday. Will be coming at around 9 am :) Some students have told me that they wanted to take a pic with me...I told them that I didn't mind. And also to take pics with some of the teachers that I didn't get the chance to take when it was my last day!

Suddenly feel tired...I shall take a nap before going for prayer meet :)

Happy Valentine's Day

Some say love it is a river
that drowns the tender reed

Some say love it is a razor
that leaves your soul to bleed

Some say love it is a hunger
an endless aching need

I say love it is a flower
and you it's only seed

It's the heart afraid of breaking
that never learns to dance

It's the dream afraid of waking
that never takes the chance

It's the one who won't be taken
who cannot seem to give

And the soul afraid of dying
that never learns to live

When the night has been too lonely
and the road has been too long

And you think that love is only
for the lucky and the strong

Just remember in the winter
far beneath the bitter snows

Lies the seed
that with the sun's love

In the spring
becomes the rose

Happy Birthday to Kenny and Sherwin

First of all, before I continue any further, let me wish Kenny and my brother, Sherwin a happy birthday! This post should have been done yesterday but anyway, here it is. Band practice on saturday went ok. We tried a couple of pieces based on old songs, a few by Teresa Teng and 2 Jap songs of which all of them aren't that bad at all. I'm glad that we were able to play through the songs :) will definitely need to get a copy of the 2 Jap songs!

After band prac, Kenny, Marilyn, Jason, Jackson, Zhiquan, Wee Gek, Ben, Yan Hao and Myself went to Pizza Hut @ Compass Point to have lunch or rather a late lunch. After having our meal, Marilyn went to buy a birthday cake for Kenny! We had a great time!

Cleaning Up!!!

I did much of the cleaning up today...vacuumed and then later mopped the study room, sorted out papers that were printed on 1 side and papers that were clean on both sides and it took me quite a while as there were lots to sort out! I found the wireless optical mouse and plugged it to my laptop (I'll give that mouse to my aunt) and found a mini-stereo set that has not been used and will be using it when I play games! This is so going to rock, man!

Will probably be doing my filing of phone bills and what not by tomorrow after band practice. Later I will be going to my aunts place (this aunt is on my maternal side) to help her setup her laptop and 3-in-1 printer / scanner / copier.

Constantly

I thought this might be a nice song to hear although its eons ago :)
________________________________________________________

All day I'm walking in a dream
I think about you constantly
Just like an ever flowing stream
Your memory haunts me constantly

Shadows fall and I try
To drive you from my mind
So you're no longer near to me
But my heart sees you there with me
Every sunset you share with me

The rain that patters through the trees
Reminds me of you constantly
Your name is whispered by the breeze
And love birds bring your song to me

Just as sure as each star
Keep burning in the sky
Your love will stay aflame in me
A flame that burns so bright
Not only through the night
But constantly

Just as sure as each star
Keeps burning in the sky
Your love will stay aflame in me
A flame that burns so bright
Not only through the night
But constantly

Though we may be far apart
You're constantly deep in my heart

Something might come up

I was looking at today's classified ads and I saw a position for IT Manager. All the advertisement had was the contact number. Just wanting to make sure what company it was, I went to the Yahoo! Singapore website and typed in the number. Only 1 search result was found and it came to be the number for Seacare. So I called them up and enquired about the position. As usual, it's a contract position and renewable for a year. I did mention that in my previous post that I detested contract positions but when you have no choice, you have no choice.

And so I left home, took the train to Outram Park and then 174 to the Seacare building. Reached there, filled up the application form, spoke to the person-in-charge, gave her my certificates and left the building. It only took a short while and while waiting for 174 to come, I thought maybe I could go to the library@esplanade since its quite near.

I went and managed to borrow 2 music scores and 2 DVDs. After that, it was home....

New Laptop and Books

As suggestive as it might seem, that new laptop isnt for me. Its for my aunt who isn't that IT savvy AT all...Anyway, being the nice guy that I am, I did everything for her. Did all the updating and stuff like that. I also went to the library to borrow books on Dreamweaver, Flash and Fireworks...basically to enhance my knowledge about these 3 software as I'm designing a webpage for my friend and getting paid of course!!

My Little Nephew

Yay! I've got another nephew!

Slightly Happy

I'm keeping myself VERY occupied these days...To keep myself away from the situation that I'm in...I chose the champion's theme because I believe that everyone can be a champion, it gives me that sense of motivation, that final hurdle to achieving something great of which I hope that I can achieve 2 things - Get a proper job and a companion. These are the only 2 things that I ask for...nothing else. As for the rest of the other goods, I will have to work my butt off.

I've brought Margate FC to the 3rd Division! After 2 seasons in the Conference League, I finally worked my way to the top, literally. My 1st season in charge, Margate was in the 5th position (I think) and lost out in the qualifying rounds as most of my key players were injured. Now, in my 2nd season in charge, the team is getting better with better players, which reminds me that I have to get even better players to prepare myself and the team for life in the 3rd Division. I don't want to go down. The formation will still be the same : 4-4-2.

I've applied for a couple of jobs already for positions in companies like Crimson Logic, Drew & Napier, The Singapore Police Force, IPOS and CPF amongst others. Hopefully, something will come out of it.

Frustrated and Demoralised

I have been feeling frustrated of late. I am frustrated at myself for not getting a proper and stable job. Most of the jobs that I've done are on contracts which I now detest. Why can't I get a proper job? Is it because I dont have enough work experience / I'm not suited for the job / my degree isn't recognised or what??

Secondly, I've been trying to ask some girls out but so far the response has been lukewarm. Is something wrong with me? But then again, I can't really blame them because I dont see them most of the time..I'm tired of asking girls out..Everytime I try, I hit a very hard brick wall...it is THAT demoralising.

Good Memories and Acknowledgements

I will always remember the good memories during my time with Sengkang Sec and I wish students from 4E1, 4E3 and 4E5 the best of luck for their 'O' Levels! Work hard and study smart! I would think that the bonding with the students will always be there. I hope that they recognise what I've taught them and to use them to greater effect.

I would like to thank the Principal, Mr Leong and Vice-Principal, Mr Singh for being approachable.

My HOD IT, Ms Goh as well as the other HODs - Mr Raj, Mr Zul, Mdm Lim, Mdm Sharifah, Mr Anbu, Mrs Cheng and Mr Toh who have been understanding and co-operative.
