June Holidays

Ah...the June holidays are here...time to do my own work and not get bogged down by classes. Lots of things coming our way for both Shar & myself. We've got the Sec 3 IPW, Pinto's Video, My Survey, the e-card and tickets for the Speech Day and lots more..

But I think once Term 3 starts, that is where the real battle begins....Make Ready!!!!!

Trip to K.L.

Hi all,

It has been quite a while since I last wrote anything in my blog!

Things have been going well for me so far. During the long weekend, I went to K.L. to see Nicholas, a very good friend of mine, although I have not seen him for 16 years! I decided to go by bus and mind you, it wasn’t any ordinary bus…it was AEROLINE! I would say that overall I’m quite happy with the service and I would definitely take Aeroline again to K.L.

When I reached K.L., it was around 2325 hours. I met Nicholas and another friend of his, also by the same name. Nicholas, then drove me round and showed me the various parts of K.L. After dropping the other Nicholas, Nicholas drove me to a 24-hour Indian shop to have prata. We then proceeded to his home, where I settled down, washed up and went to sleep.

Next day, I woke up and had breakfast with Nicholas, his mum, dad and Nathan. It felt good seeing them again! It was there that I also met Nathan’s wife, Stephanie who is going to deliver anytime. After breakfast, Nicholas drove me to town to do some shopping. We had lunch at this place called Nando’s. I reckon it had great sauces. You should try it the next time when you go to K.L. After lunch, we continued the search for my street soccer shoes and after much looking around, I finally found a pair of shoes that suited my liking. We then went to another place called Causeway Bay where we had peanut butter on toast. It tasted real good too!

We got home as I felt tired but was asked by Nicholas if I wanted to go for the Youth Mass @ St Francis Xavier’s and so after about an hour’s rest, we headed towards SFX for the Youth Mass. After Mass, we headed towards Amcorp Mall where excellent Korean food was served. Left the restaurant at around 8 to watch the FA Cup Finals @ home with Noah and Nathan, who both are Liverpool fans.

The match was another Istanbul and with the game going to penalty kicks, the keeper was again the saviour. Liverpool were to win the FA Cup for the 7th time.

On the 3rd and last day, breakfast was as usual. This time, I went to church with the whole family and after that went to the Marco Polo Hotel where there was a buffet which had excellent food. It was then time for me to head back to Singapore, Noah and Nicholas drove me to the Pudu Station and I boarded the bus from there…..

Will upload the pictures next time round…

Soccer, Soccer and more Soccer

Yesterday, I finally got the chance to play REAL soccer but my footwork let me down. Although there were some sparks of my former self but I need to get more practice. Pitch was ok and needs more getting used to and which reminds me that I need to get some street soccer shoes...running shoes not that effective...the people that played with me were as follows: Sharizal (Fellow IT Trainer), Aru & Halim (Technical Support Officers), Mr Pinto, Mr Raj, Mr Selva, Mr Toh (Teachers) and Mr Singh (VP). All played great except for me!

There Is Soccer Today!

Finally I got the chance to have at least a kickabout! It wasnt really a match but having a kickabout is good enough. Actually planned to go to Jalan Kayu with the Jeff, Vince and Shar. But since Vince had something on, we decided to call the whole thing off.

Tomorrow I will be meeting up with Lydia and Im really looking forward to it. Hope to take a picture with her so that I can put up on my friendster!!!

No Soccer Again

I was disappointed yet again. Aru, who is supposed to be the organiser for the football kickabout, ask me to get the teachers who are interested in playing. Its frustrating at the same time also because we cant get things done together. Time can't be confirmed, personnel also not confirmed etc etc...

I do hope that tomorrow at least there will be a decent game. As school will be closing @ 1400 hrs due to the voting of the General Elections on Saturday (6th May 2006), all staff and teachers will have to leave the school except for Aru and Mr Ang (the Ops Manager).

There will be another bbq yet again. This bbq is not a friends birthday but a company bbq. Hope to take a few photos. Leander didn't want to have her photos taken because she said she didn't look so nice... What a waste!

Borrowed 2 DVDs from PLAY! 1st DVD - Coach Carter & 2nd DVD - GOAL! Both shows are equally fantastic to watch and I would definitely recommend them to anyone who wants to watch them!

Horrendous

It has been a good day so far until 3E3 came in. Class was getting more and more rowdy as the minutes passed until I finally blew my top and told them off. I guess the icing on the cake was when the students started talking to people outside the lab and also when Sharizal started looking @ the class.

Do I think myself as a failure? I don't think so. Its just that I need to be more firm and know how to handle my class better. Its funny that after shouting @ 3E3, I find that there is a stronger need for me to teach. I really don't know how to explain this but I think that probably teaching is in my blood.

I hope that I don't have a sore throat again after what happened last week. Coincidentally, it was shouting @ 3E3 again...

Slacking

Nothing much to do today..Woke up at around 8 plus, brushed teeth, waited for Shimon to get up and went down to Macdonalds to get breakfast. Did some housework today - ironing my clothes, swept the floor etc etc...

I have been enjoying the public holiday so far..Will be going to Leander's BBQ later @ Downtown East and will definitely take photos! I havent seen her in quite a while already ever since she left SATS. Hoping to see some of the other guys as well like Ben and Don...
