Application Rejected

I received the application from MOE yesterday and the results were as much as I guessed.... My application to be a teacher was rejected. A bit disappointed but then I am allowed to try as many times as I wish and I do intend on trying until I get the position!

Not feeling too well today after shouting at 3E3 yesterday for not listening to what I have to say. Now having a sore throat and I think I might fall sick sooner or later...

Birthday Boy!

Happy Birthday to Me! Well, what can I say? Im a year older, should be more wiser and stuff like that. Anyway, for my birthday bbq, I dont think it went ok. First, it was the rain. Secondly, fire was slow and I felt so bad because I could not entertain my guests as much as I would like to have. Bbq pit was on 1 side, function room was on the other, aircon was at full blast etc. All in all, it was very tiring. I wanted my parents to talk to my friends as well but mum was so busy frying the nuggets, bee hoon, sausages while dad was busy fanning the charcoal that they didnt have time.

Need to have an AAR (After Action Review). I think I will do the catering the next time. Have taken some photos but will have to wait for my dear sister to upload them of which I dont know how that will take....

Im just glad that my friends came. Otherwise, it would have been a very quiet birthday party.

Good Stuff

Today has been a rather ok day for me. Had classes as usual and managed to memorised a few students names. Some of them even got a shock as to how I know their names. I told them I had my sources! As for the Sec 3 classes, I told them what I had in mind and succeeded.

What happened was this, when I conduct the IT Training for Sec 3 classes, they seemed rather disinterested and would rather do their own things. What I told Sec 3E3 today was that I understood that they had a long day and it was ok for them to have some entertainment but I needed to teach them what I had to teach. It was tiring as well because some of the classmates were still talking so I had to repeat the same step 3 or 4 times... but in the end, I managed to get the module through...

Need to perfect it better...

Congratulations to Jenny aka Nicole

This holy week has been a most memorable one for me. Although I do look forward to every Easter but this one is special.

My friend, Jenny, whom I got to know when I was @ Choice has been baptised as a Catholic. Im very very happy for her as even though I have only known her for 6 months! We have been closer as friends due to the various Choice activities and meetings that we have gone together not forgetting my other 2 Choice buddies : John and Wenny.

Will definitely look forward to more activities with her and the rest of the Choice people :)

A Teacher's Patience

Today has been really a testing time for me. Everything went ok until 3E1 came for my class. Judging from what Sharizal said, it is a good class, well-behaved etc etc until now.

I can't believe how rowdy some of the students were! That brings me to the fact that I really need to know how to manage a class... Teens these days are quite a bunch to handle with but with preserverance and determination, I will be able to win them over.

It is frustrating at first but with time, anything is possible...

My patience continues...

Meeting up with Dexter

It was a great day today... I finally got to meet up with Dexter, my BMT platoon mate, after 8 long years! We did much catching up although not much details were given due to the conditions (we were @ Ice Cold Beer) but I guess we will be meeting up again plus another of my BMT platoon mate, Jeff.

How I found Dex was through Friendster and as I was searching for ex-schoolmates, it dawned on me that I could search for ex-army mates as well! So far, I only managed to find a few including Dex... and I guess the search continues!!!

Tired

Today was an exhausting day for me. Woke up at around 0645 hours to go to church. After church, rested for a while before meeting up with Clement and his friends at the Rivervale basketball court to have a soccer match. I now realised how much stamina I have...actually, not a lot!!!! I missed a few open chances and some passes didnt go well...but I guess I did ok...

After that, came home, showered, had lunch and rested for a while before going out again to watch the COG. Legs are still hurting...
